Highlights from Iceland – 17.08.2025 - 23.08.2025
Our Icelandic Erasmus+ Adventure Has Begun!
Kaja and Neža have set off for the very first Erasmus+ training in Iceland. Throughout this week, we’ll be sharing moments from the premiere training as well as the breathtaking beauty of magical Iceland. We’re confident that something truly unforgettable is in the making.
And here’s the best part – you’ll also have the chance to experience this training yourself in November 2025, when we return to Iceland for the next session.
First Impressions from Iceland
Upon arrival, we took a quick tour of Reykjavík and met wonderful participants from across Europe. The very first days have already been filled with inspiration, new friendships, and valuable experiences – all pointing toward a truly special learning journey ahead.
Day 1 of Training
The first day of our Erasmus+ training began in small groups, offering plenty of opportunities for collaboration, exchanging ideas, and creating together. The sunny weather in Iceland added a special energy and inspiration to the experience. Participants actively connected, shared their knowledge, and explored new approaches they could bring back to their own environments.
After such an inspiring start, we also took time to relax and recharge in the magical waters of the Sky Lagoon. It was the perfect way to end the day – combining learning, connection, and the enjoyment of Iceland’s natural beauty. A true balance that enriches the whole training experience.
Day 2 of Training
The second day of our Erasmus+ training in Iceland was dedicated to activities that strengthen children’s identity, self-confidence, social skills, and sense of belonging.
Educators and teachers play a key role in this process – creating safe and supportive environments, encouraging social interaction, developing social skills, helping to resolve conflicts, and building trust.
It was truly inspiring to see how everyday activities can support children’s growth and help them connect with their surroundings.
Day 3 of Training
On the third day of our Erasmus+ training, we visited a local school and explored their educational system more closely. We were inspired by the supportive learning environment and innovative approaches that place the child at the center of education. The visit gave us new perspectives, fresh ideas, and the motivation to bring positive practices back to our own settings.
In addition, we experienced another unforgettable moment – a journey through the Golden Circle. The magnificent waterfalls, geysers, and breathtaking Icelandic landscapes offered us the chance to connect, recharge, and truly feel the magic of Iceland together.
Day 4 of Training
The fourth day of our Erasmus+ training was dedicated to the theme “Me and My City.” Together, we explored how children build connections with their local environment and community, and how educators can play a vital role in this process.
In small groups, participants engaged in creative activities and shared experiences on how to help children become more aware of their hometown, develop a sense of responsibility, and strengthen their feeling of belonging.
It was particularly inspiring to see that a child’s identity grows not only within the family and school but also through the places where we live and the communities we are part of. The day brought us fresh insights and new ideas to take back home, and we look forward to the learning that still lies ahead.
Last Day of Training in Iceland
Our training week came to a close with an international closing session – a moment to reflect, share experiences, and celebrate everything we had learned together.
The entire week was filled with inspiration, collaboration, and new friendships that go beyond borders. We return home enriched with fresh ideas, valuable experiences, and motivation to continue creating safe and supportive environments for children everywhere.
