We started the new school year full of joy, enthusiasm and pride, because children and professional workers from Radeče Kindergarten and Nova Gorica Kindergarten have, for the very first time, “Said Hello” to Africa, more specifically to Gambia.
We thank with all our hearts to Urša Rojnik and Etka Čalasan Žerdoner from Kids are the World Association, which have helped us to establish contact with the Mo Beta Nursery & Kindergarten from Gambia. By volunteering and their unselfish help they are doing so much for the local people and now we try to open up the world to our children as well.

It was fantastic, our kids were excited, full of expectations and are now full of questions and ideas. I am really glad that we are cooperating, since there is a major visual difference between us, which really impressed our children, and now became real for them. (Metka Zahrastnik, teacher at Radeče Kindergarten)

We have sung Slovenian folk songs and listen to the Gambian. In short, it was great! Now we are going to write down all the children’s statements and present their impressions to their parents. And our play room has already got an African look. (Martina Madon, kindergarten teacher from Nova Gorica Kindergarten)
