World Day of Emigrants

23/08/2016 18:17:22

Beyond the borders of Slovenia lives about half a million of Slovenes, which represents about a quarter of Slovenian descent. Most of them reside in Western Europe and many of them across the ocean, in Slovenian communities in the United States, Canada and Argentina. In Europe, they can be found particularly in Austria, Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Switzerland.

Despite the fact, that they do not live within our borders, each individual is still a part of the Slovenian society and keeps one’s awareness of national identity in one’s own way.
